hello, sorry i've been neglecting you!! some might say thank god but sorry no escaping me just yet, only another 6 weeks or so to put up with it though, i promise i wont write updates from my desk back in england, although the wildlife in the office can be quite amusing at times! ;o)

anyway when did i last inflict you with an update??? no idea think i may have "done" malacca?? oh way too much sun affecting me little brain cell, anyway i'm in borneo now and i know i've not mentioned that because i would have had way more insulting emails from all you borneo fans back home (is it really cold back there?) anyway flew into sandakan last sunday and spent a night in the most mosquito ridden room i've ever seen and thats saying something! got bitten about 50 times in one night! no col i didnt quite draw little circles around them to count them up! anyway thank god mairfair had room the next night so air con, hot water, and espn to watch the man u, chelsea match ... heaven!

so from there went back to uncle tans wildlife camp which to the poor people who havent been is an amazing, if very basic camp up the kinabatangan river (think i may have even spelt that right!) i've been 3 times now and it was great as ever although Lan the head guide did insist on taking the boat back down river to the village to buy rice wine to celebrate me being back "hard core" style! everything Lan does is hard core style its his expression! rice wine for the record is lovely in small quantities, not in Lan quantities! bless him!! so saw orangutans again they came right into camp, a mum and her gorgeous little babe, red leaf monkeys, huge crocs (have an amazing shot i promise i will upload soon!), loads of birds AND a rhinocerous hornbill, a couple amongst you may be a wee bit jealous of that one!! (saw 2 actually!!) met some hillarious people there including one girl that didnt like mud, not a great place to come really, the banks of river during monsoon season! we did try and tell her mud was good for the skin, it didnt work!!

so after 2 nights in jungle i returned to mayfair to frankly have a hot shower i wasnt smelling particulary fragrant! which reminds me i really have to do some laundry?! bet your looking forward to my bag coming home arent you mum?!!! :o)

so in kota kinabalu now the capital of malaysian borneo, i'm definetly not climbing silly hill again like last time funnily enough i havent had a labotomy since i've been away so climbing 4095.2m hill is not on agenda been there done that got the tshirt!! :o) but staying in a great hostel 1.80 a night inc breakfast and as much tea as i can drink, she may live to regret saying that!
