We've had a lovely day here in Queenstown. The sun was out, the scenery was beautiful and the food was delicious!
I woke up earlier than Jim so wandered into town and had a look at the little arts and crafts market, going back to meet him later. Next up was a trip on the Skyline Gondola up to Bob's Peak where you could look over Queenstown from the observation deck. And then we went on The Luge.
They're little go-carts that you control by pushing or pulling your handlebars, and you whizz down the hill on a concrete track, reaching pretty high speeds. I was a bit cocky on my first attempt, smugly speeding past Jim before promptly crashing into a corner. I learned my lesson for the second attempt... But it was so much fun!
The rest of the day was pretty much a case of sunbathing by the lake with a book, though I also had a look around town. And, the crowning glory of the day was stumbling upon a British themed sweet shop where I located a pair of Drifters! COME THE CHUFF ON! We're going to eat them in a bit with mugs of tea; I'm sure you'll agree, the perfect way to end a lovely day.
Love you lots x x x
