The Crazy Adventures of Gemma Jean
Hey there!!
So I've done the Inca Trail! Woo Hoo!! It was very hard but fantastic. I've put photos on the site so go ahead and check them out.
I'm not going to go onto the details as I'm actually a little hung over and need to have a fry up but what I will say is that the days were hot and the nights were cold. The second day of the trail was very difficult as we climbed about 2000ft up to the 'dead womens pass' My god it was hard but I was really chuffed to be the fourth girl to the top out of 24. Think I've improved slightly since Mount Kenya but thats not hard.
We arrived at Machu Picchu at 6am so it was a 4am start...how tired was I! However it was indeed worth it as we got to see the sun rise over the mountain and although I am aware how cheesy this is, I did listen to Barber's Adagio for Strings during the sun rise...magical!
After the Trail I ached something rotten so found it imperative that I went for a full body massage that lasted for 1 hour. It was have been rude not too!!!
Last night we all went to a place called the 'Fallen Angel'to celebrate. The tables were baths filled with water and fish with a glass top as a cover. Very sereil. The food was out of this world though and the wine wasn't bad either. Afterwards we went clubbing and I continued with my celebrations getting in at about 5am this morning, hense the need for a fry up. Ouch! It's ok though as you don't do the Inca Trail every day now do you?!
Right I'm off now as my eyes are closing but I'll be back.
Feels like I've been away for years now!
Missing you all
