Well by now I guess that you will have seen the photo’s, but I still thought I’d add an entry on my apartment!
Ok, my apartment in on the top (20th) floor of the apartment block which makes for some pretty amazing views from the balcony and also means that no-one overlooks me!
As you walk in the front door, immediately in front is the lounge area, which consists of a bright orange sofa and chair (although I have now covered the sofa in a blanket). There is also a coffee table and TV cabinet with the TV. Surprisingly the TV is pretty good - I have cable included with the apartment and you can get a handful of English channels showing mostly crime shows, which suits me perfectly!
Anyway, at the other end of the lounge are the glass double doors that lead out to the balcony. Again, as I am on the top floor the views are not spoiled by the other apartment blocks surrounding me, and so I get a brilliant view of the surrounding mountains and rice paddies!
The kitchen area is just off the lounge and it’s a reasonable size with everything I need in it - although I am seriously missing not having an oven (the apartment only has a gas hob and a microwave)!!
Off the kitchen is the second bedroom, which Jill moved out of last weekend and I’ve not done anything with yet. It’s basically got a bed and a hanging rail and small cabinet in it.
At the other end of the apartment to the kitchen is the bathroom which has a bath, which is really unusual for Korea, and I’m quite grateful for! The only slightly odd thing about the bathroom is that there is no shower curtain which is quite amusing, and means the bathroom gets a bit of the clean every morning!!
Then next to the bathroom is the main bedroom which has a double bed, small table and a wardrobe. It also has massive windows that open onto the balcony which is really nice. The strange thing about the bedrooms is that they don’t have curtains and again this seems to be normal. Instead the windows are frosted so that people can’t see into the rooms from the other apartments, however they did not seem to realise (or maybe they did and didn’t care) that the frosting doesn’t prevent the sunlight from coming in as soon as the sun rises, which is about 5:30am!!
Well that completes the description of the apartment and hopefully will help make more sense of the photo’s I put on the blog a while ago!
