Kuala Lumpur is another spralling metropolis. At least we did'nt get lost finding our room this time, even though we had no idea where we were when we arrived by bus. So onto another country. It seems weird saying that after only 4 nights in Singapore especially as we have spent 10 weeks in one place previousley. We chose Melaka for its heritage as an old trading port. Owned by the Dutch, then the Portuguise and then us, it seemed like an interesting place and only a few hours away. Well, we are now officially calling ourselves backpackers! We refused to pay the 70 quid for one night at a hotel in Mumbai near the airport, so we decided to spend the 19 hours we had free in the airport. Not a great idea since you were not allowed to sleep and there was only one food stall with awful food! Oh well we survived, and what a change Singapore airport was.
