16-1-13 Los Angeles- California Adventure Park- Sunny 22 C- perfect!
We've just had another magical day at Disney- this time in Adventure Land which Adam and I hadn't been to before. Just fantastic. Saw some great musical stage productions - Alladin was full length and brilliant and at the end of the night there was a gorgeous water/lights show. The grounds are incredibly clean with street sweepers everywhere. Some impressive garden displays too with shrubs carved into Dumbo/Mickey etc. They have really set it up beautifully.
We have hit the jackpot with the timing as very low crowd numbers. Most of the rides we can stay on for 2-3 times as not enough people waiting to fill the whole thing! In summer the queues are usually an hour just for a 2-3 min ride which would be a nightmare. Fell in love with the beautiful Ariel ride and Zoe and I went on it 6 times- Zac only 3 as he was napping. Means we can really get our money's worth and the kids are in heaven. We have also managed to sneak food and drinks in each day (despite bag checks) which is helping keep the costs down too.
Zoe is quite the little dare devil wanting to go on rides that scare mummy and daddy a bit (like the enormous Silly swings, flying Zepplin rocket ride and Jelly fish drop which lifts you up about 7 m and then drops up and down). She is just scraping through the height restrictions which is lucky. Zac having a ball too and adored the sea creatures carousel and Disney puppet and 3D Muppet shows. Adam got to go on a huge rollercoaster (appropriately called "Screaming", complete with upside down loops and drops. He went twice so has had his adrenalin rush for the day.
We are fortunate as the change in time zones means the kids are still rearing to go at night when all they parades and finale shows are on and we don't have to feel guilty about having them up late. Zoe even had a enough energy to dance her way to the bus stop at 9pm. So cute!
Last day of our tickets tomorrow and cant wait. This is going to be a hard act to follow! That said though, the kids still getting excited by the simple things in life-there were some mosaics with animals, cars etc in them in front of one of the coffee shop counters and the kids sat at everyone's feet while they ordered to find things in the patterns. The bus ride to Disneyland also causes much excitement- especially looking out the window at all the trucks and cars- could have saved ourselves a lot of money and just gone round and round on the bus! Everyone has been incredibly friendly and helpful which is lovely. Perhaps its the cute kids factor or that Disneyland truly is the land of happiness...where dream really do come true!! (Ha!Ha!)
