Hey hey
Well since my last blog I have traveled about a bit so will split this into 2 so I'm not writing too much...
From Nha Trang I headed on up to Hoi An which was the place I was most looking forward to...no wonder. It is a beautiful wee town with lots of friendly people. Despite an awful trip there in a bus with 5 squashed at the back and the air con broken (I could go on but no point in complaining) I got into my hotel and opened a beer...bliss!
After a bit of relaxing I headed out into the town which surrounds the river, it was a beautiful place with millions of cool wee tailors shops. After looking round a number of them I settled on a place which had been recommended to me...T&C Tailors. I spent 1 hr looking round the shop with the 2 Vietnamese girls who worked there, both had pretty good English and spent the hour giving me cheek about getting a Vietnamese girlfriend but I'm too ugly! After another 30mins of discussions I settled on 2 suits and 2 shirts all tailor made in the shop and was told to come back 10 hours later for a fitting...amazing! The prices are unbelievable and the quality is fantastic so I was a happy man.
After a recommendation from a couple of girls in my last hotel I decided to go on the full day cooking course with Red Bridge cooking school, this was worth every dollar ($40). Only 3 of us with a private chef who took us round the herb gardens and the local market to buy ingredients for our afternoon of cooking. The place was bliss! beautiful setting and great food...watch out McColgans...you have no chance now!!! haha
My final night I spent sitting by the beautiful lake with Chinese lanterns everywhere with a cold Saigon beer in hand watching the world go by. Met few other people who were in nha trang and we just chilled for the rest of the night with a good few beers :-)
After a nice long lie its time to head on up to Hue...here goes
