Xin chào, just a quick update from HCMC.

Had an absolutely wicked day yesterday...met a random canadian guy at the airport and shared cab into town which meant there were 2 totally lost tourists running about District 1 trying to find our hotels.

After an hr we finally managed to check in with my guys giving me a free upgrade to "executive" room (2 double beds for some reason). We thought we deserved a nice cold beer so headed out again...this did not take quite so long!

The heat hits you like a brick wall in this place. About 32C and very sticky! I must say, sitting down watching the CRAZY mopeds of HCMC with a cold beer was good but when they brought us the bill which came to all of $1 it was even better...

Anyways, after a wee walk about the Ben Thanh Market, this place is mad, so many tiny wee stalls with only about a meter of gap betwen them selling everything from clothes to fish to small dogs (didn't see any but I'm sure they were there!)

After some amazing scran I was heading back to hotel and stopped in at a wee local bar for some drink, yet another canadian greeted me asking me what I was doing in HCMC, from 7pm until 1am I sat with him and more and more joined us. Before we knew it we had about 7 locals all teaching us the local language and a small deaf woman at the end explaining how many diseases the prostitutes have (this is hilarious when done in sign language!!!)

Anyways, one of the girls has kindly agreed to take me on a tour of the city so I'm off out now...bloody roasting so a nice cool breeze on the back of the bike will be good.
