I spent an extra day in Krakow because the train didn't leave until late.

I got up fairly early and got on the bus to Auswitz, not what you'd call a happy experience, but very interesting. Got a copy of Sophies choice while I was there as I'd finished my last book the dice man. I'm thinking of following it up with a trip to the old jewish area of the city in the morning, it's where they filmed Schindler's list.

Krakow is a really beautiful city in the centre, but outside of that the houses start getting quite rundown and turn into big blocks of flats that make it look quite like Manchester. I yet again managed to get lost the first day in the city (I yhink it may be my new method of really exploring a city). I tried all different ways of finding my way back, but my ever increasing circles just ended taking me in ever increasing distances away from where I wanted to be. ...
