"The long road home" - once we made our mind up to go home it was full on driving for three days and very tiring so the camper did not get opened again, we stayed in motels at Yass and Tooleybuc (great name hey!). Tooleybuc is on the river Murray in Victoria. It has a community club, with pokies, a golf course, Minnie golf, lawn bowls and the motel with swimming pool. Today we drove from Tass to Tooleybuc in the river land. We are spending our last night on our holiday, and Dennis' birthday, in a very nice motel, with a view over the golf course, next to the river Murray. It's been a long drive today and we've travelled through a few changing landscapes. We've seen cattle, sheep, cereal crops and cotton fields. We had a lovely relaxing stay at pacific palms and recharged our batteries. Yesterday we drove around the many beach coves in this area. We stopped for lunch at 'frothies coffee' at a boat club, a quaint little spot on one of the many lakes in the area. We stayed at Sawtell beach caravan park, it's huge and meanders around an undulating terrain near a river mouth with a wide expanse of white sandy beach. It is set around a community swimming pool, picnic area with playground, oval and croquet club. After leaving Sawtell, we drove along the beach road, where possible, and there were endless views of bays, beaches, surf, and holiday makers. We drove down the east coast today calling in to Byron bay, crowded as, couldn't park, it's so hard when you have a trailer on, to find a large enough space and most of the parks are 45degree angle parking. We stopped at Lennox head a bit further south for coffee, its a bit smaller but a very nice surfing town, coffee was good!
