After a day out travelling from Amsterdam we arrived in Paris. Only event on the train was two women trying to claim our seats that had unfortunately been genuinely double booked. They asked how we could resolve it and a good old fashioned "'We were here first" seemed to fix the problem.

After checking in to the Novotel we stocked up at the supermarket and prepared to go to dinner at the Eiffel Tower. We had great seats right on the window overlooking the Trocadero and enjoyed an excellent set menu with wines to compliment the food.

Prior to dinner we had an enjoyable wander around the viewing platforms getting our first feeling for the scope and beauty of Paris. We could not have had a better start to this leg of our tour.
