Well at last Ive arrived....after saying a very hard and sad goodbye to everyone at airport (didnt think it would be that hard)..I was sat in airport for 3.5hrs on my own thinking why was I leaving and that I should stay...well that soon passed once I found the nike town shop in departure lounge, so treated myself to a new t-shirt...well it was tax free how could I resist? The flight here was awful..Im not fond of long haul flights that I do know, I had in my head from what people told me that there would be plenty of room on the plane, well let me just say I never saw one bit of the room I was so cramped for 12 hours. Bangkok...first impressions well here goes...when you land there is a golf course on the airport, as you land there is just stood playing golf with random cars lining the runway then on the way to terminal people were stood about waiting for the plane to pass so they could cross runway with golfing bags...how crazy I couldnt really imagine that in heathrow. ..could you? Well I was really confident and got on the bus with ease at the airport and should ave known it was all going to smoothly, as I sat there for an hour I asked someone who told me I had gone past it 10 mins ago so the driver let me off in the middle of a busy junction, so had to weave through loads of cars with my backpack then set off in the 35 degrees heat sweltering, I walked down this big road for about 30 mins and it was lined with everything you could imagine..and some scary sights I can tell you..one memory is a guy with just one arm and no legs pulling himself down the street with a tin begging....well anyway Im walking for what now seems days and Ive lost 4stone when I stop and ask a lady who cant speak a word of english but just knew from her face I was miles away, well by this point Im not amused so hail a tuk tuk and then injure a 30 minute ride weaving in and out of traffic with dust/leaves and various other crap in my face..the guy driving talking to me trying to get me to go with him to some thai massage place and thiking that saying "mate" every 2 mins would get me there....dont think so mr. Eventually got to the hostel which is very nice though not sure about sleeping on a floor but hey its all part of the fun. Ive already joined up with another guy called steve who's invited me to join him to go watch muay thai boxing tonight...so gotta go for now.
