I had set my alarm for 08:20 as my pick up was coming at 08:50. I must have switched off my alarm and rolled over to go back to sleep! The next thing I know I look at Sainsbury's watch - and the time was 08:49. I jumped out of bed, grabbed my day bag, and put loads of stuff in it, hoping that I had go what I needed and ran out the door. I hadn't missed it luckily, it pulled up a few seconds after I got to reception. That was close! We had to pick up a few more people before heading to the Skyrail. This would take me up and over the jungle. It was raining, with really low cloud. All over the cabins was water droplets so you couldn't really get a good picture. In fact the weather has been exactly the same the last time i rode the Skyrail. However this time I hadn't have Patrick bricking it! At one point, you couldn't see anything because of the mist/clouds. It was a little spooky, when you saw an empty cable car going in the opposite direction appearing from out of the clouds. The first stop has a walk that took about 10 minutes, thank god they handed out umbrella. Although I had packed my waterproof jacket it's not that great. It was then about another 10 minutes until the Skyrail station number 2. They had some view points over the Barron River. It looked impressive, and don't remember doing this last time. On the last section I was asked to complete a questionnaire, I was aloud to keep the pen if I did it!

Once I arrived at the Kuranda Station at the top, I decided to take a walk around first. Looking to see what I remembered. I actually remember quiet a lot, couldn't work out where we had lunch tho. I took some pictures and walk around the market, (I had to be careful with my camera, as I didn't charge it last night!) I found a small stall selling second had books, they had the hunger games, but not the 3rd one.. I think I'm going to have to buy that when I can. There was a koala bear zoo at the top of Kuranda. I had a walk around and a picture with one. This one didn't smell at all, her name was piper, she was really cute. In the zoo they had snakes, wallaby's, kangaroos, lizards, crocodiles, and of course the Koala Bears! It didn't take long to walk around, and it was time to get some lunch, I found a place called the Frog Restaurant, and they had free wifi so that settled it. I went for a prawn and avocado pizza, it was so nice, I just sat and watched the world go by. I found a sweet shop, and I was looking for a jumper, but nothing I really wanted. I had a little while before my 3:30 train back to Cairns Centre. I had a drink, with a scone jam and cream! Very English. (it was so tasty!). I was so full now, it has felt like I'd been eating all day. It was about 15:00 by now, and I took a slow walk to the train station. Exchanged my voucher for my ticket, took some photos and sat in my allocated seat by the window. While I had been walking around today, I had been bitten quiet a bit by Mosquitos! So I took a Piriton. It was a bit of a mistake, as all I wanted to do on the way back was sleep... My battery on my camera died, so I had to result to using I iPhone. Which isn't as good. The journey was about 90 minutes, and we went through 15 tunnels, over 59 bridges, and worked our way down the mountians side. It was as good as I remember. The rain had finally stopped and the sun was starting to come out! The perfect end to the day.

We pulled into the Cairns central station, which is in the centre of the shopping centre. Great... I would be able to get some jeans, a jumper and maybe even a jacked... Wrong. The shopping centre shut at 17:30, I got there at 17:25 and most of the shops had already closed. I'm not going to get another chance as doing a day trip tomorrow and leaving for mission beach on Sunday... Never mind. I think that Brisbane will be the next best place to go shopping. My hostel is about a 5 minute walk away, and I just had a very chilled evening, picked up stuff for a packed lunch tomorrow! As it was a cheaper option to bring your own lunch!
