I was a lot warmer this morning. I has a shower and packed. Finished off the bread I had and made toast, for breakfast and some cheese sandwiches for the journey on the greyhound. Arriving at the greyhound I saw Rebecca again that was on the Whitsunday's tour I was on. We chatted. The greyhound was about 30 minutes late. I was sitting on a wall waiting... These massive ants kept walking up and trying to climb over me, I ended up flicking them away. The bus journey today was 3 hours to Hervey Bay. We stopped on route at a service station to have a meal break. Except I had already eaten my sandwiches by this point, and ended up buying lollies (Australian for sweets! confusing I know, our lollies are lolly pops!). Oh and the best icecream! A rolo icecream!! It was yummy! Then back on the bus. I was meant to be doing my blogs but no... I'm to interested in my final hunger games book! (Thats why I'm now sitting having to catch up on 6 days!).
Arriving at Hervey Bay, my hostel transport was waiting to take me to the woodshed, which I had booked for tonight and when I get back from Fraser Island. It was nice enough. Quiet. But then all of Hevery Bay seems quiet. A girl was checking in at the same time as me. We both walked down the front to find some lunch. Most of the places were closed. In the end I had a pot noddles from a shop that I cooked (Added hot water) when I got back to the hostel. I got some wifi and caught up with stuff going on back home, sounds very boring! Lol. I also booked my next few buses and hostels. I even looked at flight prices to Uluru. (Ayres Rock) but they are still so expensive. I really think I'm going to have to give it a miss. Plus gives me a reason to come back in the future!
I have come to a conclusion that the east coast is very quiet during the Australian winter. There are some people about but not loads of tourist which is what I was expecting. The hostels, tours and greyhounds are never busy. So many shops and restaurants are closed. Maybe the credit crunch around the world is causing problems with people travelling around Australia.
I didn't do anything this afternoon, partly because there isn't really anything to do. Saw the beach on my walk before and about 8 o'clock went back down to the strip to get some dinner. I had a really nice meal, at first I thought it was closed chairs all stacked up ready, but he said I was ok, asked when do they close, my reply was "Once your finished" I then felt a bit rushed. I walked back to the hostel and got my head down. I am getting picked up for my tour tomorrow at 07:20... Early! Night.
