Made it to Lobuche a day early (decided to keep going past our intended stopping point of Dughla). Getting very cold now - and Sherpas don't know how to close doors! No running water, no electricity, two quid for a cup-a-soup!! Altitude: 4910m Oxygen: 54% sea level

Planned to go to Pheriche but took a wrong turn after the Himalayan tea house andended up in Dingboche. This turned out to be quite fortuitous as our lodge had a hot shower! Spent a day acclimitising here. Significantly colder and harder to breathe! Altitude: 4410m / O2: 57% sea level

Very hard slog up to the Buddhist Monastery here, we are staying in a small lodge behind the monks quarters... Arrived at Namche Bazaar - the first really hard climb of the trek. After hours of trekking through valleys and steep rock staircase paths, we finally arrived in Namche, ready to drop! Note: Tibetan bread (with honey) is fantastic. From Lukla, we trekked along to Phakding. Google maps doesn't seem to recognise this place so we'll have to stay at Lukla for the time being... The main traffic is Yaks carrying baggage uphill to the Mountain resorts. Hot water has now officially ended...
