We went to the 'Water Puppetry Show' the night before last, it was realy interesting! We were sat near to the front and had a realy good view of the puppets in the water. The puppets are in the water and the controls are underneath them, with people behind a screen controling them waist deep in water also. We will put on some videos soon as its hard to explain what it was like.
We started our 2 day Halong Bay cruise yesterday and finished today at 4pm. It was beautifull, the weather was warm and sunny. We had some lovely people on our junk (what the boats are called), We had a Chilean couple on their honeymoon, Bob from Canada, AnnaLise from South Africa, Sizhou from mexico, Pandora from Germany and Patrick from france, and a guy from Korea(cant remember his name but he had a crush on Garath).
The cruise set off at 11:30am. We went to Sung Sot cave, it was huge and all lit up in multi coloured lights. We cruised around some of the 1500+ islands and moored up at about 5:00pm. We went kayaking whilst the sun set and saw lots of fish and jellyfish. It was amazing. We had dinner and sat on the sun deck listening to the water and talking amongst ourselves.
We were woken up at 3:00am by a storm over the bay. It was exciting we sat up in our bed and watched it getting nearer out the window. It never got over our boat it just passed by, but the rain and waves around us were madness. The boat was swinging around in circles, as if being swung by the anchor like a ball and chain.
We woke this morning feeling refreshed and ready for the day ahead as the storm seemed to clear the air. We were up early enough to see sunrise over the bay. We had breakfast and headed back to Halong City. We had lunch by the harbour and were bought back to Hanoi by 4:00pm.
Tonight we had dinner in a place just around the corner, the food was lovely. We then had some cake by the lake.
Hope everyone is good, love you all lots xxxxxxx
