We got to Koh Pha-Ngan at 12:00 mid day on Friday 25th. We jumped in a Tuktuk and headed for Harmony Beach. They had received our reservation but had a complication, and fortunately had to give us a deluxe room for the standard double room price. We had a Lovely Bungalow in the trees with a queen size bed, TV and DVD player, a private balcony, and outdoor bathroom that you looked down at the beach from whilst having a shower.
We were very hungry so just dropped off our bags and went to the restaraunt area. We found Joyce sat in the restaraunt reading her book, we have met Joyce so far in Luang Prabang, Nah Trang, Sihanoukville and now here, all by coincidence. She was a little freaked out and now thinks were stalking her. We had some lovely food and caught up with Joyce on all the other places she has been in Thailand, and got some info on areas for Diving. We had free WIFI so caught up on some facebook and added Photos to the Blog.
Later that evening we watched the football (non England match) with Joyce, Chris and Tracey, and made plans together for the Full Moon party.
Saturday morning we hired a bike and went over the rollercoaster roads to Hat-Rin. The town was already crazy busy with people everywhere. We bought some UV paints and I bought a White vest dress with a tribal print on the front. We stocked up on water and a few beers and headed back to the bungalow.
We got ready and then had a few beers on the balcony with Chris and Tracey. We walked to HatRin along the beach with the tide in so we were wading with it up to our knees. We go there after 45 mins and then headed straight to 7/11 for more beers. We had some pad thai then headed to the beach for some buckets. We had a couple and then Garath had the sudden urge to do a fire skipping rope. He singed his armpit hair but was still giggling like a child after. We all did a slide through a ring of fire and then took a quick dip in the sea, only quick as we noticed the hundreds of people peeing in the sea.
We lost Chris and Tracey at some point and I fell asleep on the beach for 2 hours. I woke up at 6:00 and we walked back the way we came. This time the tide was out so we found it much easier. We stopped off at a lovely swimming pool at another resort and had a dip.
Later Sunday after many hours sleep we headed into town to watch England get thrashed by Germany. It turned out that the night before Chris had got lost and Tracey headed back on her own, She paid 100 baht for a taxi and Chris paid 700 baht for a motorbike ride home, Ooops.
Monday we just watched films and chilled out on the beach. There was an impressive storm later that afternoon and we watched it from the beach. We booked our boat and bus trip back to Bangkok for the next day.
