Well, quite alot to write about.

Firstly Melbourne, we spent our last Night going up the Eureka Skydeck, which is the tallest residential building in the world. We decided to go up at night and we were so glad we did, because the view was absolutely amazing. You could see for miles. We also did an extra lookout in a glass box which takes you outside the building. G didn't really like it as it was very high up. The other people in the box were walking on the metal poles on the floor but i loved it and was straight on the glass. We then went back to pack.

So friday we flew to New Zealand, a very bumpy flight but the views from the window as we reached New Zealand definately made up for it. We flew over snow topped mountains and bright blue lakes, we only seemed to skim the tops of the mountains so I took lots of pics out of the windows. Arriving in Christchurch, it was a lovely sunny day and we made our way to our hostel. We had decided to stay at a place called the Jailhouse! It was an old jail converted into a hostel. It was also the cheapest hostel we have stayed in. You can search it online at Jailhouse, Christchurch. Everything was jail themed including stripey bowls and plates. We slept in one of the old cells which was wierd. They had also kept some of the cells as they originally were with drawings on the walls etc. The tables were made out of the old bunkbeds, very cool. But overall it was very clean and tidy and a really nice place to stay.

That evening we went and had a famous Hells Pizza. Possibly the best pizza I have ever eaten. We finished the evening off doing tim tam shooters in the kitchen, probably looking very strange to passers by. So the next morning we walked to pick up our camper. We have chosen one which is quite new and has been done up for the world cup next year. It is very cool, it has the haka painted on the side. We have named him Jack as he seems quite cool. He is an automatic and is alot bigger and cleaner and nicer inside than Peggy, actually the nicest one we have seen on the road so we are chuffed. As it was Good Friday, everything was closed so we just drove straight out of Christchurch towards Wanaka.

We stopped at Tekapo, it is set on a huge Glacial lake called Lake Tekapo. It was gorgeous and azure blue in colour. We filled our drinking bottles up straight from the lake. The drinking water in general here is far nicer than bottled water. There is also a really sweet church, called the Church of the Good Shepherd. It is amazing and we went in etc. The window at the back has the most amazing views which you can see during the service.

Anyway we stayed the night at the next lake called Alexandria. It was a cheap camp site and only had a long drop toilet - yuk but we were in a gorgeous setting. From here we drove towards Wanaka, stopping at amazing sights along the way. We stopped at Twizel to get some shopping. I am finding it very hard to remember and say all the place names as they all sound the same to me, lots of tiki's and puku's. G is having no problem. We drove the Lindis Pass which is one of the most beautiful drives here and it didn't disappoint lots of snow topped mountains as a backdrop. I can't explain the scenery here, you need to see it for yourselves!! Wanaka, is set on Lake Wanaka. It is a lovely little town with quaint shops and we had a little browse before driving towards Albert Town, where we slept the night. While we were there it was the airshow, which was inbetween two mountains which was amazing in itself. We got to see fighter jets doing acrobatics above us which was amazing but they were sooo loud when they had gone past. G says it is because they broke the sound barrier. There were also lots of old planes etc and we stopped to watch on the roadside for a bit.

Yesterday, we drove on towards Queenstown which is the adventure town of New Zealand, and has the reputation as being the best in the world. Queenstown also has some amazing looking vineyards and I am looking forward to doing some winetasting on our way back through. We then got to Kawarau Bridge, the sight of the worlds first bungy. We decided to get out and watch some people doing bungy's. After a bit of time, I decided it may be quite a good idea to do one myself, seeing as G kept saying how much he enjoyed his. After I paid, I had a bit of time to wait before doing mine and i was fine, a little nervous, but fine. That was until I stepped onto the ledge and realised I actually had to throw myself off, against all my natural instincts. They then torture you by making you wave to cameras, all the while I was swearing like a trooper. I don't know what came over me. But on jump, i did it! I jumped off and the feeling as i was bouncing in the air was amazing. I am probably boring G talking about it now.

So after this we drove through Queenstown to Lake Moke where we camped for the night, surrounded by mist topped mountains and a sky which seemed to have more stars than sky.

So that is our New Zealand leg so far.
