Our last day in singapore and we headed out to the Zoo on the Metro. It took an hour and half to get there via 2 trains and a taxi, so it must be right on the other side of the country!!
The zoo, like everywhere else in this country is beautifully maintained and very well organised. We saw monkeys, orangutans, apes, lions, white tigers, panthers, warthogs, hipps, rhinos...the list goes on. Josie had the chance to feed the giraffes and she loved it...the long grey tongue curling around her didn't bother her at all...but she did give all her carrot sticks very quickly!
We stopped in the middle of the zoo at a fantastic kids water park which has sprinklers, slides, sprayes, buckets of water splashing all over everyone nad kids everywhere. Ours loved it and stayed for 2 hours and still had to be dragged away to see some shows and more animals.
We saw a rainforest show that spoke about how the destructions of the forests affects different creatures and out each creature came - on ropes, in water, flying, jumping etc..At one stage they asked for volunteers and Josie's hand shot up and out she went to help encourage the otters on stage. she has no fear this girl and was already sitting right down the front in the ,splash zone', away from us!
the next show was the elephant show and it was amazing too. It was packed, but Jose squeezed her way right down the front and had a friendly local family squish up on their seats for her! Nate got the idea too and found a seat closer down the front than us and an Indian lady moved over to let him squash in too. They are a bit of a novelty here, with their fair skin and blond hair.
We were all worn out by 4 and headed for home, eventually getting a taxi to the station after waiting 45 minutes in an ever-increasing line.
