Log 20 July:
Heading to Barcelona to pick up the combie from Mick (Aussie from Melbourne). Spent last night at Montpellier after 2 train trips from Monaco and today is the last leg.

2 days ago we spent the day in Monte Carlo, Monaco with Claire and her friend Rebecca. What a great day. Had drinks at the Hotel de'Paris which cost over AUD$100 for a beer and 3 cocktails, then wandered around the casino and looked at the cars and the in-crowd. There where dozens of Rolls Royces, and plenty of Ferrari's, Bugati's, Lotus's, Bentley's and even a McLaren. Not that we are big on cars but the wealth is unbelievable. And the boats! There were 50+ private launches over 80ft long. Some are more like ocean liners.
We sat at a cheaper bar for hours just watching the rich and famous parade into the casino. Then had a great meal down the road recommended by Raymond (local guy Claire got talking to). Wandered back to cheap bar with Raymond for more people watching and hot chocolate.
It was a real highlight being with friends from Oz but now we have 6 weeks just by ourselves. Not so bad as we are like 2 newly weds.
