Log 26th July
A week back we arrived at Barcelona to more hot weather and easily managed the train system to get to the beach, meet Mike and pick up our Mystery Machine. We stayed that night on the beach,10m from the train and a cool bar.
After our first night in the MM we saw the amazing sights of Barcelona on a bus tour. Must get back for a month to discover more, maybe with the boys for my 50th?
Next day we headed back to France but the west coast. Cold (high 18c) wet and windy! This is summer? The camping place we next stayed at was enormous with over 1000 sites although facilities underwhelming. Paul bought a board and wetsuit and finally after 5 weeks had his first surf. Met a great girl Sally in a bar while trying to keep dry and she told us about Les Surfing. It was like stepping back to the 60ies with long haired surfers and very laid-back vibes.
Another day,still cold and wet,
and our first disaster. The brand new surfboard (used once) is now in the repair shop after we ran over it, so we are stuck here for another day. When Paul stopped crying we realized that France sucks. Can't wait for Spain and Portugal although this weather seems to be effecting most of Europe.
