4th February Parintins
To start our tour today, we had to transfer to shore by tender. The boat was a typical local one, which is used to transport bananas, passengers and anything else between islands as there are very few roads. The seating was individual plastic chairs.
We were due to go on a City tour by tricycle. Two people sit on a seat under a canopy and a driver propels the tricycle by pedalling furiously behind. There was a convey of at least 20 tricycles. At the head of the convey was "The Chief" of the blue Boi Bumba carnival side who gave informative talks at each stop. One of these was in the Club House of the blue team and we were given a mini display of their dance routine including one lady in an elaborate crinoline type dress. And then we went on to the Bumbodromo, where the annual Boi Bumba festival is held.
Brilliant fun, informative and altogether value for money.
As you will have noticed, we managed to buy a charger!!!
