Hey from a very hot Flagstaff-the suncream and shades have been out!
LOl, anyways this is our second day in Flagstaff the first we spent in the mighty grand canyoN! No wonder they call it one of the 7 natural wonders of the world i have never seen anything like the beauty or colour like i saw yesterday! I did expect a lot, but the canyon gave so much more back! We took the tour from the hostel with a group of 12 other travellers costing $75 dollars a bargain! Haha, so we left about 9am, in a red mini bus with a crazy tour guide called mike! Arrived just after 10, after a few hours of his crazy ipod songs, of which i just wanted to break out into song! Stopped off and bought supplies and then headed off to our first stop, he led us out with our eyes closed for our first glimpse of the canyon and it was truly spectacular! No words can descibe it! We then headed off for another view perspective and then on for lunch, when most of us were literally sitting with our legs hanging over the canyon pretty awesome!
Next, we headed for a 20 minute drive until we reached a hiking trail! Yeaaah! The views were outstanding! Going down was fine! We passed mules and literally walked in their crap for a while! We reached a rocky point and took loads of photos standing on the edge of the canyon! At least half of the group were Japanese, a lot of eeeeeeeeeeeee and ahhhh and owheheh came out of their mouths and fillled the rest of us with giggles for hours! Haha, anyway getting back up was a little harder at 7000 ft of elevation there is hardly any oxygen and jesus we went through the water! Anyways we made it back up under an hour-we were proud! Headed off to see the start of the sun rise under desert sun, an awesome view!
We watched the rest of the sunset on the way back to Flagstaff-and made a quick stop to see some of the Colorado River and the Little Canyon!Yesterday was truly breathtaking i have never been so inspired in all my life!
Sunburnt and tired had a lie in this morning and a nice breakfast with some people we have met! Including an Australian shes pretty cool, but her accent does get annoying lols! Headed into Flagstaff where there is literally nothing to do, so a good excuse for a chill day reading books (my 4th of the trip so far!!)..heading to LA tomorrow night so another fun filled day tomorrow lol! We were gonna hire bikes but the trails and full of snow and mud and arent advised! =D thanks for all your messages, tigger is loving his travelling got a few shots of him yesterday Julie! Lots of love to you all! Fi xx
