This is the first time the pic has matched up.....oh wait no the cab one works too cause that was after my first car ride and this pic is where i am headed.......i am hittin the road out of london towards france......i got 2 months here and will be returning so thanks for all the advice i will use it when i return.......last night it finally got social in the hostel with three dublin gals and this pretty cool world traveler guy......i could go on but i dont have a lot of time so it will have to wait (ok so this is like a ps in mid paragraph....i have 8 minutes of time remaining so i might as well use it....go to the bottom to see the add on...)......in fact i prolly would ahve continued traveling with the guy a bit cause he was fairly easy to talk to and quite knowledgable however he was heading north and i was heading south and he was looking for a semi-permenant job and yeh......so we parted this morning and i was off to the outskirts of london....a few things i have noticed that i want to write down before i forget them......first unstead of yield they use give way.......and at the base of the streets they put which way you should look for traffic cause this city is so messed up......one ways round abouts wrong side.....crazyness.......so on my way out i wanted to make sure i was heading in the right direction and asked a guy.....he busted out his handy map from the hotel and showed me.....it happened we were goin the same way and we walked together for a block or two......come to find out he is living in sicily and is in the army (USA)......he gave me his address if i needed a place to stay....the day was off to a great start........then i asked a cabby who was on the back street about the best route to get to a main rode toward the tunnel to france.......follow me......he did anyway and after a bit of figuring out it seems i should pay the whole sterling to get to the outskirts of the london and that was my best chance for a hitch......i did and it was quite easy.....great transportation......but yeh the cabbies i have asked a few times to point me in the right direction and they are so nice and helpful, the one this mornign i think was on his lunch break....he prolly woulda taken me himself if he could have.....but all was well and i was off......so on the bus i was getting nervous cause i had no clue where to get off except i knew it was the end of the line......the drive was extremly unfriendly and coupled with signs everywhere saying not to bother him i just decided to guess.......when it seemed we were turngin back to the city i got off.......however i was a few stops before i coulda gotten out......oh well......i was in lewiston which actually has a college in it......definatly not the london where i landed......so much closer to NYC (but not that bad) with some old houses thrown in.......and now i am in....not sure where just headed toward the main road for a hitch.....i know i knwo i will be careful......as i passed this place i figured it might be the last internet i find for a bit so i should grab it while i ahve the chance.....also it was begining to rain so i figured the dry place for a 50p was worth it......and with that i am off......wish me luck on the first hitch....lata The PS - So yeh the gals were all computer science majors and so i bragged about rooming with dutko and how cool he is.....they were 21ish i think not really sure.....they were on their way home form a 6 week trip around europe....they and the other guy whom i only know his last name from a pic in his journal...dyson......anyway all of them had been doing a bit of camping so that gave me a lot of hope that it was easy to do.....they gave me some tips whcih were nice.......there was also a canadien there who was kinda clueless about absolutly everything.....he was here for a week just kinda cause he might move here in a yr if he makes enough money if he upgrades his schooling.....and he was sleeping most of his day away......who knows....oh speaking of sleeping the dublin chick who was above was sawing wood alllllllllllllllllllllll night......kinda a crappy night sleep.......dyson and i laughed about it in the morning......it was quite nice to talk to other travelers for the evening...we all sat around and sharred stories til from 8/9-12....we all noticed how many looks we get with the big packs on our backs....it is funny......i just smile back and hope not to get hit on by guys hahaha.....ok sunny again i am out here.......
