Back at the trusty Kia I finally saw my first Faroese horses. Sturdy little steeds. One thing you may notice in northern cultures is they do take safety very seriously. But the riding a horse in the fog on a single lane road on the side of a steep hill is an adventurous sport indeed!

This is looking back at the way I hiked up. The village is Við Garð. If the clouds were a little higher you'd see a stunning view of the peak Mallinsfjall.

This is looking towards the west at the islands of Borday, Kunoy and Kalsoy. After some pondering in the warm sun I got to thinking that the Faroes and Glacier Park look a lot alike if you sawed off the top 1/4 of the Park, removed the glaciers and plopped it into the North Sea. Same kind of look and feel.

On the way back down the weather started to clear as forecast, just a little later than expected. My obligatory selfie.

This was the view, from between the peaks, looking down. Somewhere straight down there...and I do mean straight down judging by the imperceptible spaces between contour lines, is the North Sea. 2,500 feet...that's half a mile. Every so often a tourist tries to take a look...well they end up with a very good view for 2,500 divided by 33 feet per second.
