Setting off from the ferry on Wednesday morning we had a leisurely drive up the coast towards ostend before heading to brugges. We spent a wonderful few hours wandering around here and then back to the motorcaravan park by the bus station. No facilities but it still cost 22 euros!!!
We motored across Germany and went to a town south of Dusseldorf where we hoped to meet up with Alex who came to stay with us a few years ago with his son. He still works at the landrover experience centre but sadly wasn't around when we called. We had a coffee and then continued north. I spotted a campsite by a river in the book and set the sat nav. It turned out to be the town of Hamelin . It was so pretty as you can see from the picture above. Lots of really pretty buildings and a rats trail to guide you around the streets. The main building even had a representation of the story with a moving piper followed by the rats and then the children all accompanied by pipe music. Well worth the time!!!!!
We decided to pass by Berlin and managed to park right by the Brandenburg gate and then spent a few hours wandering around. It was relatively quiet as it was Sunday but there was a very cold wind.
Yesterday we arrived at the home of the Poland Landrover club and have been very warmly looked after by Norbert and joanna. Today we have spent several hours in the forests following wonderful trails and looking at the scenery. For the most part we were actually on restricted land they belongs to the army and it was fun to ignore all the signs saying keep out and look out for tanks!!!!!!!
Tomorrow we will leave and head south towards Krakow , visiting little towns on the way. We meet up with Jackie and Peter on Sunday in Warsaw all being well before we go on to Belarus
It is hard to get to the Internet but will post whenever I can.
All going well Tessa is fine and has got used to the travelling life again!
Keep well xxxxxx
