The last two weeks were the last before traveling!! we were back up in tha ton to do some community work up here before heading off!! after getting back from koa toa we headed off to mae salak the following morning to start building!! it was so lovely to see all the teachers again and they were so welcoming as usual!! the building wasn't the most exciting thing we've ever done it began by moving sand from one pile on the edge filling in sand and putting it in the centre...... untill the last two days this is what we continued to do..... every lunch the teachers would take us out though and we had different things to do in the afternoon including water fights swiming in the meakok and planning for our aids workshop english camp day......!! on tuesday evening i stayed at mae salak to pack up my things and had a nice egg and vegetable dinner as usual with aoy!! on thursday evening took the teachers out to dinner a bar and then the club in fang as a thank you!! it was really good fun kru yute did the thriller dance to everyones amusement!! they sang some english songs too!!
on thursday we went to burma to renew our visas!! it was quite an experience with people hastling you to buy things everywhere!! after that we went to chiang rai after visiting the opium museum which was really intersting all about the problems thailand are having and have had in the past!! we had a lovely dinner from av at ayes restaurant and then went to teepee bar before going back to our nice air con room!! the following day we went to some "lovely gardens" mae salong and a tea plantation before heading back!!
the building this week again consisted of building moving more sand but later on we actully built a wall and mixed some concrete!! we went to and from everyday on the songtaew roof which was alway amusing for the locals!! on our last day the school threw us a beach party which was good fun we played water baloons and other various crazy thai games getting very wet in the river!! lots of the younger kids were there which was nice!! leaving was really sad but the following day we took part in an aids camp learing a very amusing sa wa dee car song and teaching the children some english!! in the evening we went down to the river as it is the beginnings of the water festival here in the north and ate in bamboo huts which have been put up on the river!! today has just been preparing to travel as i am leaving wit 9 others at 11am tomorrow morning!!
