We left ThaTon after a very amusing last night at quans which resulted in everyone being made to leave and head back to the resort due to thai kerfew and a woman and a stick!! we had a nice last dinner all together and gave everyone at the resort there presant!!

the songtaew the next day took us to the border at chiang kong we got soaked on the way due to the water festival with buckets being thrown at us through the windows!! we then crossed the river after going through a basically non-existant pass port controll and got our visas in loas!! we spent the night and booked onto the 2 day boat to luang prabang!

We left early the next morning for the long all day ride to the half way point!! it was very scenic although the novelty wore off pritty quickly!! we arrived in a very strange ghost like town and found somewhere to stay!! the electricity all went of at 9 and once in bed me and sarah turned on our tourch to find a cockroach between our heads!! we screamed and in doing so managed to wake up the whole surrounding village who weren't too amused!! after a pritty sleepless night we headed off again on the boat this time there was about 100 people crammed into a 70 seater wooden boat and was a very uncomfortble 9 hour journey!! finally we arrived and today we are planning on heading to some waterfalls and caves...
