Another installment from Lady Elliot Island to accommodate some more photos because as usual I took so many......
We continued with another glassy water sunrise over the lagoon, great buffet breakfast, snorkeling in the underwater world, iced coffee at the cafe, lounging in the sun & some more reading. We borrowed some full face snorkels from a very generous English couple for a session in the lagoon & found them to be really great - weird to look at but such clear vision & easy to breathe. Might have to find these for our next snorkeling adventure. Sadly my underwater camera died so I couldn't capture this last morning experience on film but we saw turtles, a couple of big reef sharks & lots of pretty fish in pristine clear water - perfect.
We frequently had the delightful company of Christiane, a German nurse who loves to travel & dive. We've happily shared contact details & will hopefully see her again somewhere & certainly will enjoy each other's photos.
A late afternoon flight to Hervey Bay via Bundaberg then barge transfer to Fraser Island rounded off our trip to the reef which was exactly as we'd dreamed.
