So spent the day just chilling out at the pool as we were leaving for Hanoi on the night bus that evening. It was very nice and chilled out as usual.
Got to the office for the bus a bit before 5 and Manisha went to check in. The woman who we'd gotten into the argument with day before was there and basically ignored her!
Once the bus finally arrived, all the Vietnamese people jumped on quickly to get their seats, so we were left with the row of 5 sleeper seats at the back of the bus. Luckily, the people who came onto the bus and took the seats next two us were a really nice American/Canadian couple - Andy and Jen. Funnily enough they had seen us in Hoi-An by the riverside a few days beforehand. Having them on the bus certainly made our journey much more pleasant. They were really lovely to talk to and Jen seemed like she had traveled pretty much everywhere in South East Asia, so was a great source of knowledge to us. The bus journey was pretty good - and the bus itself was much cleaner than the train. When we were leaving Hue, we made a couple of stops at various hotels and other agencies. One of the stops was our hotel - the receptionist came out of the hotel and pointed to us on the bus saying that we were already on it! The man on the bus didn't look too thrilled with us. We carried on with our journey and got to know Jen and Andy a bit better.
Throughout the night we stopped in a couple of places and each time we stopped there seemed to be new people on the bus. After the stop at 1am - where we were all made to get off the bus at some weird service stop - the nice girl who was next to me was swopped for some guy, who seemed fine but kept on encroaching on my sleeping space during the night. Great fun!
