I can't believe that after all the planning, anticipation, nervousness and excitement that my big adventure has finally come to an end. I have definitely had the most amazing experience and wouldn't change any of it. I've seen so much wonderful wildlife and scenery and experienced so many new things. I have also met some fantastic people and made some fab friends along the way.
However for now it's back to reality and real life and the prospect of sorting out the 7000 odd photos I have taken and trying to put them in some kind of order! (And maybe planning my next holiday?!)
But before I do that here's my last entry to finish off my adventure!! My journey home!
So on Saturday, I got up and breakfasted and packed my bags and then headed down to Reception to check out and catch my shuttle to the airport, where I checked in and then went through security.
As is my new normal I explored the airport and then settled down with Netflix to wait for my flight.
The flight from Anchorage to Seattle was pretty uneventful apart from having 2 dogs in the same row as me in bags under the seats - this is still something that I find very strange and think it will take a bit of getting used to. Also there was free wifi on the plane which also managed to keep me entertained!
When I arrived in Seattle I spent my last few dollars on American chocolate bars and then again settled down with Netflix for 5 hours while I waited for my plane home.
The flight to Heathrow was a little bumpy it otherwise fine. I didn't really manage to sleep apart from a few half hour naps here and there but think that was partially due to the excitement of coming home.
I landed in Heathrow at about lunchtime on Sunday where I met mum and then we drove home ready to conquer the massive washing pile I have! I can't believe I'm now home - watch out everyone I'm back, I hope you enjoyed the peace and quiet because it won't be like that for long!!
