Border crossing and catching the flight in Tacna to Lima: Everything was going perfectly so far. - The flight to Miami however was delayed by 2 hours. The auxiliary engine which starts jet engines was stalled - as a trust building measure. - Once we in the airspace over Florida the captain told us that the airport in Miami is closed due to fog. First we were in a holding pattern, then he flew us to Fort Myers to get some fuel. I wonder if that extra tour didn't cost more fuel than waiting a few more minutes in that pattern. But what do I know? Captain Hailey however showed up in the door mumbling to the leaving passengers "better save than sorry" and "your security is more important than your schedule". That's right, but why mentioning it then? And AA's organization on the ground was kafkaesque chasing their passengers thru the airport. I hear they want to merge to build to biggest air carrier in the world -leaving the customers less choices. Well, good luck with that. - But anyways, eventually the flight was rebooked and I'm approaching the Chicago now.
