Day 32: Bell Gorge, Silent Grove.
So we are leaving this beautiful place. The ranger has informed us that unless we have provisions for five days and are prepared to be stuck in one place for that time, we have to go back to Derby. We don't. So we're going back.
Having risen early, we eat brekky and pack up (wet). We do the trip down Bell Gorge, and it's beautiful. What a shame about the weather! If it had of been stinking hot, we would have been swimming all day...just a gorgeous place.
So we leave, and make the trip back to Derby. And what a difference a little rain makes to the road! No wonder they are so precious about it. The small amount of traffic it has seen this morning, has turned it into a quogmire. Half of the drive has to be done in precautionary 4WD 2H. I understand now why this road is so trecherous! Unbelievable the difference some rain can make.
So we are back in Derby, washed, dried (mostly) and bellies filled with good tucker.
Our time in the West Kimberley is coming to a close.
