My first day working at Palmar Tent Lodge and the streak of nice weather has been ruined, it's completely chucking it down with rain. Though not my preference, without the rainy spell Panama's ecosphere would be nowhere near as lush and amazing so a couple of days of rain is a small price to pay to stay in paradise. Everything and everyone moves slowly here so it's a couple of hours before I'm shown my room and not till the next day that I get any painting done (no one knows where the paint is or what exactly they want done). The next day the sun comes out defiantly as if the rain never even existed and I spend the day in my swimsuit and an old t-shirt repainting the Saturday pizza day menu board. In the evening we have candlelit yoga (free for volunteers so I plan to make the most of it whilst I'm here), followed by a campfire on the beach. All the volunteers here are so nice and I feel really welcomed into the hostel community already.
