Was good to have the camper set up albeit without the fridge - able to undertake some serious cooking in the form of a can of something! Bought an ice cooler in Hawker (Pop 470) for an exorbitant price & stocked it with the essentials including ice! Enjoyed a great steak sandwich with the lot & mug of cap (had to put own sugars in as proprietor refused to so do! Then on to Wilpena Pound for a cheap but excellent camping site. Plan to be here for 3 nights so put up camper for 1st time this trip.

Again made good time. Made a stop in Burra to stretch our legs & spent a fascinating hour in the town Hall cum museum. Fantastic building serving many purposes & a great history. On to our overnight camping site in Terowie. Terowie has a population of about 250 down from its peak of 2000 when the railway ceased to run. Great sleep in the swag! Takes 5 mins only to get it ready for action - both up & down! We were on the road before 9am - virgin territory for me! Easy drive to Loxton where we found excellent camping sites alongside the river. Peterborough is likely next stop. Have yet to put up camper!

First day of an adventure is always special as any blunders made during packing become evident. This day was especially special because of the many things that went right!
