Liz picked us up from Wanaka airport after fights from Perth and Christchurch both in heavy cloud. Ten minute drive to their house in Albert Town; Kelvin arrived at nearly 10pm after working in Invercargill and loading up the trailer with furniture etc. for their pending move.
Saturday we spent organising to 'Go Fishing' on Lake Hawea in K's boat Hoolie, unfortunately his favourite lures did not do the trick even by the Timaru river.
Had to go back to the house and raid the freezer.
Sunday - trip to the Blue Pools up above Lake Wanaka past Makarora in Mount Aspiring Nationa lPark. Stopped for a snack meeting a girl from near Thurso - from the sublime to the ridiculous!
On return had a trip round the newer parts of Wanaka - expensive!
Hannah bobbed between Market Days and Kelvin set off back to Invercargill whilst we went over the mountains to Queenstown and Arrowtown. Beautiful run there - then it started to rain.
For nearly 48 hours!
Wednesday Dave climbed Mount Irons whilst Marje and Liz went to the Puzzle shop. The views are through 360 degrees and are stunning especially after the overnight snow over 600 metres.
