This is the view from the hot springs at Banff. It was a great chance to soak my ankle (which was aching a bit) and relax in the 40 degrees Celsius mineral springs with the majestic mountains in the background. Just lovely.

This is the Banff springs hotel. It's got amazing views over Banff. Was raining when we arrived so it was a good reason to explore the hotel. The ground, first and second floors are full of shops and restaurants and tourists. It was strange that the hotel was the attraction but the views from the terraces were just amazing. (I think I need another word because amazing is getting used a lot this trip).

I'm so excited. Walking the town with Bret's aunt Debbie we found a Brazilian BBQ restaurant. I've had these in Sydney where they place a disc on you table. One side is green for "I want more" and one side is red for "I've had enough". It was different in that it had a salad bar but the salty meat was the same! They even had the chicken hearts that were called "surprise chicken". We even got to share a bottle of Red that work had organised to be sent to Bret's ho...

Banff is soooooo amazing. There are mountains everywhere. It was so strange driving in because it was raining and suddenly the clouds cleared and there were mountains! Walking around Banff it was so beautiful but quite strange at the same time because it was full of gift shops. It kinda reminded me of Broome. Natural beauty full of tourists. I think I actually like the feel of Canmore more. It's all amazing though!

So I can now say I've been on Calgary public Transport! The hire car company didn't have a GPS available and I haven't got data working on my phone so I got Bret to drop off his van and then we caught the bus and the train back to the car so I had a local in the car saying "Stay on the right side of the road!"
