Arrived at our hotel at about 8.30am.....really hungry. We dropped our bags and headed to “Same Same But Different” for breakfast. Yummy rosti with home made baked beans. Short orientation walk. We were absolutely exhausted after the overnight train so we hung around the pool for a quiet day, caught up on sleep and attempted to load photos on our blog. Tried to do some sunbathing by the pool in 26C but actually just passed out and caught up on some much needed sleep!
Following morning we met up with Katja, Brent and Kat and walked to the Long Son Pagoda, unfortunately it was closed to tourists today so we carried on to the local market. Definitely the quietest market we’ve experienced so far. All manner of things for sale here including a wide variety of dried fish and shellfish. We then walked along the promenade. The sea was really rough so Kat and I only dipped our feet in. Unfortunately a wave caught Kat unawares so she got a bit wet. Kat tripped and banged herself on the uneven path. A kind (very buff) Russian came to her aid. Feeling rather peckish we searched for somewhere to eat and found Alpaca a Mexican/Italian restaurant. Great find. Fee was a bit tired so didn’t fancy coming for a mud bath so the rest of us jumped in a taxi to Thap Ba Mud Baths. Brilliant afternoon.... warm mud bath, jacuzzi, warm mineral bath then a swim in the mineral pool 37C. On the way back the taxi stopped for us to take a few photos of the Po Nagar Cham Towers. We’re off early tomorrow morning so unfortunately didn’t have time for a proper visit.Fee found an Indian restaurant just down the road from the hotel. Great food. We didn’t realise how much we were missing Indian food. Took a wander through the night market, smaller and much quieter than Hanoi. Fee and I decided to have a foot massage before retiring. Best one so far.
