Battambang Mon 23.12.19 - Tue 24.12.19 8am today we board a private minibus (so lots of room) and head to Battambang (220 miles away). First stop at 9.30am was the spider market at Skun, lots of fried bugs of all kinds and tarantulas. None of us were brave enough to try any. Kompong Cham Sun 22.12.19 The 5 hour bus journey to Kompong Cham took us through more very rural villages with most houses along the road selling something or fixing things. Also passed more pepper plantations, water buffalo, paddy fields and weirdly an Asian driving school.....bit of a misnomer really as most drivers do not bother to take a driving test or just 'buy' one. Kratie Fri 20.12.19 - Sat 21.12.19 9.30 am departure on a bus to Kratie a small rural town on the banks of the Mekong River. Long journey not dissimilar to a couple of days ago but much longer....7 1/2 hrs.
