After I had visited Brisbane together with Christian on Tuesday, we went to Moreton Island on Wednesday, which was really beautiful. The adventure trip included sandsurfing down the dune, some amazing snorkelling and an exciting 4-wheel drive across the 3 biggest sand island on the world. The day was filled with a lot of action and we got to know two girls from Germany who worked in Sydney as Au-Pairs. They said we might come along and have a stay in Sydney. The tour guide was a really cool Australian who showed a lot of enthusiasm.
The following day Tobias drove us to the car rental station and after a 2-hour negotiation we finally picked up our campervan. An L300 Mitsubishi. Really nice car which has all it needs. We spent the evening at Noosa beach, which is one of the most picturesque beaches that I have ever seen. The walk along the beach was very relaxing and sleeping in the van was great as well. The following day, after having eaten breakfast and thought about God, we drove to Hervey Bay. A little town at the Coast. We there booked a whale watching trip, which we enjoyed the following day. In the evening we went to an openair concert in the town which was very cool. A big band was playing and the ambiance was amazing.
On Saturday we went on the trip, where we could see the Humpback whales which travel from the Antarctica to the East Coast and back every year. They did jumps and turnovers. (sorry, I dont really know the whale jargon for these moves). That trip was really nice and it was interesting to talk to the captain, the different crew members and other passengers. We had beautiful weather, so we could see the whales in the best light...
