FARFRUMWURKEN
We arrived into Copenhagen for the second and last time on this trip. We've got an overnight and then head out to the airport in the morning.
Now we’re all sick – seems T&J are on the mend and Deb & I are hacking our heads off. Yesterday we grabbed the HOHO again at 25Euro’s PP and headed into town for some of the sights that we missed on the first go round. The HOHO thing here in Europe, especially here in Copenhagen is pretty screwed up. They have three different companies with red double decker buses, one company with green buses and a host of others. Every time you try to board a bus the driver will tell you – "it’s not us – try the red bus" – but you’re driving a red bus you idiot. Anyway we managed to get around the city and take some shots with a blue sky background this time around so I guess it was a success.
We were all hot, trying wherever possible to stay out of the sun so we made a group after we had some lunch in town to return to the ship for the comfort of air-conditioning and maybe a bit of shuteye.
Tonight was our final dinner here on the Eurodam, so we had to say our goodbye’s to four (4) great tablemates that we’ve thoroughly enjoyed for the past 24 nights. It’s special when you can get table with so much compatability. While the ages ranged a bit from a high of 76 to a low of around 40 so you’d think this could have been an issue but we all clicked. We’ve exchanged email addresses with the assurances that we’ll all stay in touch – I hope so, but you know how that goes. I’ve committed to cutting Charlie’s lawn in Sydney, Australia so I’ll have to start exploring the airfare or cruise costs so I don’t let him down. We all headed down to BB Kings for one last show. I had lifted a Canadian flag from the dining room so I took this with into the show.
I’m not so sure how it got started but I found myself in a dance-off challenge with the horn player Rick. You have to understand that we’ve basically gone to the BB King Review every night for the past 24-nights so we knew pretty much all of their names and play lists. Anyway, I guess my mouth got me in trouble again, so up I went and it ended up a tie, but I was clearly the winner in my mind. Their last set would have taken us to midnight so we decided that “bag packing” was the order of the night so off we went. We’ve weighed everything and I think we’re ok, but all will tell once we get to the Copenhagen airport.
