BUYING A CAR IN BOGOTÁ - UPDATE

Indeed, a car has been found for the buying in Bogotá. As seems to happen the world over, Pr. Jairo ended up speaking with the mechanic four houses down (someone he knew before he started shopping for cars) and found a good deal on a Subaru four-dour sedan. It's had some good use and a few kilometers, but Pr. Jairo was looking anyway for a vehicle that wouldn't draw as much attention in some of the more impoverished neighborhoods he visits.

For those interested to know, last I heard they settled on a price of about $7,000,000 Colombian Pesos (a little less than $4,000 U.S.). From the donations that were communicated from Custer Lutheran Fellowship totaling $5,525 this should leave more than enough money for licensing, taxes and other fees and even some gas money.

Thanks again to all who made donations through Custer Lutheran Fellowship. As someone who has spent hours on buses with Pr. Jairo doing home visits and travelling to worship services, I can honestly say that the vehicle will be well utilized!
