Our second visit to Shenzhen since we have lived in Macau and it is a modern city of 10 million people which has evolved since becoming a Special Economic Zone in the late 1980s; prior to that it was a sleepy fishing village. This time we went to the Russian Aircraft Carrier Minsk, which has been moored on the river front and is a theme park. Shenzhen is a city of 10 million and is 2.5 hours by bus or 2hours by ferry from here. That does not include going through immigration as despite Macau being part of China - there is still immigration from here to mainland china. We did a bit of shopping in Shenzhen on the Saturday afternoon and bought some gameboy games and dvds and a few items of clothes for the kids.We were the only western people there and the shops were absolutely jam packed - think Boxing D...
