Today we were taken into central Paris on the coach at 9am. We needed to use an ATM to draw out some Euros so got dropped in the main shopping street (will find out the name of the street when we get to the Chateau). Then we went into Zara and Quicksilver. I bought a lace top from Zara and Paul bought a new hoodie. From there we headed down the to the Eiffel Tower. The queue for the lift was crazy so we lined up to climb up the stairs. I'm not the best with heights so climbing up all those stairs was slightly challenging. The views from the second level were amazing. You could see right out over all the city. I would have loved to see the Eiffel Tower at night when it lights up and sparkles too though. We walked from the Eiffel Tower to Pont Des Arts love lock bridge and attached our padlock in the middle of the bridge. On the other side of the bridge was the Lourve. We didn't have time to line up and go inside, but took photos outside. When we got back to the hotel we had roughly 45 minutes to get ready before we went out to dinner and the show. We were told that if we were wearing heels to be aware that we would be walking up lots of stairs. I wore my wedges anyway. The stairs were fine, but walking on the cobble stones was so awkward. There were all these creepy guys walking around at the bottom and up the stairs. They wouldn't leave us alone. They were either trying to hand you beers, sell roses or saying 'sexy girl' come here.. I like. Was so horrible. You would tell them to go away and no thanks, but they wouldn't leave you alone. This was walking in a group of 50+ people too so it's not a city you would feel safe walking around in by yourself at night. I had snails for my entree and fish for dinner. The chocolate mousse cake for dessert was really yummy too. From there we walked back down to the show. We all had a really good night. The dancers at the show were very talented. There was comedy and skits in between the dancing and singing to break it up too. After the show people had the option to either go to a bar called Sally's or get a coach back to the hotel. Fiona and I went back to the hotel. Paul headed to the bar. My feet were killing me by that point and there were so many creeps around I was happy to leave. I loved the Eiffel Tower and the other main tourist attractions, but I think my expectations of Paris were possibly set a little too high. I would have thought I would have preferred Paris over London, but I really can't say that I did. The people in Paris are the most crazy drivers. There are no lanes other than the line that identifies the middle of the road. The round abouts are insane! We saw two different groups of scammers and saw both the coin and ring scams in action. I did love the street artists and bought a small card of the Eiffel Tower from an old man. He was lovely. A lot of people also sell what appear to be second hand books along the river's edge. I'm looking forward to moving onto Southern France tomorrow xx
