I've fallen in love with the Beaujolais Wine Region. It is the most beautiful place. Dad, you would love it here. You're away from everything and the country side is stunning. It's 4pm and we're on the way to Lyon. We should between 5pm and 5.30pm. I'm really sad to leave this beautiful place. Will definitely come back one day. Today we went for a 45minute walk up a hill to have a French picnic at the top. The view was incredible. We sat on the grass in the sunshine looking over the vineyards and stone houses. There is a golden retriever that lives at the chateau. Once we had picked up our picnic baskets we started to walk down the drive. Baxter, the dog was waiting for us. He ran along the drive and then waited for us to follow. He did this a couple of times before I realized that he was going to lead us the entire way up to the top of the hill. He looked a lot like Misty. He joined in with our group picnic and I fed him and gave him three cups of water. He was pretty thirsty. There was so much yummy food in our picnic basket. We had baguettes, ham, cheese, tomatoes, small packets of chips and apples. There were also two large bottles of water, plastic cutlery and cups. On our way back we stopped at a small cafe. The guys had a beer and us girls got either a coke or lemonade. Then continued back to the Chateau taking photos as we went. Underneath the Beaujolais sign was my name so I made sure I had a photo with that too. When we arrived back at the chateau Fiona and I decided we would get in our bikinis and go for a swim to cool down. Then we spent the rest of the afternoon lying in the sunshine. Perfect day!! Last night was our Freaks and Geeks themed party night in 'The Cave', which is basically down in the cellar at the chateau. I dressed up as a geek. I wore my black shorts, white blouse and then clipped pens and highlighters onto my blouse. Fiona then stuck lots of post it's all over me. The atmosphere was really good. We had a few beers and spent the night dancing and mixing with the rest of our group. Beaujolais Wine Region definitely sits a lot higher on my list than Paris. I'm so pleased that Tam talked me into doing a tour that went through this beautiful area.

way Good views Moni
Tamzin How about those stairs down to the cave! I slept on top of the heater in those rooms. The view is stunning hey. Special place isn't it, the area around the chateau feels untouched by tourists, other than contiki. Quiet and peaceful. Bit surreal knowing exactly where you are staying, quite sad. I can't wait to hear your stories. X
Mum It sounds lovely, I am so happy you are having such a wonderful time, love and hugs xx
