Today it was decided to take a trip to Kowloon side across the harbour on the very old ferry. Don't think they have changed the ferries ever. They are still green rust tubs, but do the job perfectly. No longer is Kowloon a small trade village, it is now a sprawling metropolis of high end expensive shops. Masses of people throng the streets and every 2 or 3 steps were accosted by street pedlars attempting to persuade us to buy anything from clothing to watches...

Well, the journey has begun... Had a very pleasant car journey (Not Ken anymore unfortunately) to the terminal at Heathrow. Checked the bags in really quickly and scampered off for something to eat and drink !! Found a good little cafe and had quite an enjoyable meal to set us up ready for the journey... Then a long wait for the boarding time, but the airport lounge wasn't too busy so had a seat to settle into. Slowly time passed by and eventually the board...

Well what a wonderful firework display, celebrating the Chinese New Year. That was an unexpected bonus to the itinerary. The police were obviously prepared as they had shut all the roads in the area and were shepherding the quite substantial crowds towards the viewing areas !! Trev & Paul wandered off to find a better place to take photos as the crowds were getting bigger. The show lasted about 20 mins and was quite spectacular, noisy, bright and colour...
