Well, the journey has begun... Had a very pleasant car journey (Not Ken anymore unfortunately) to the terminal at Heathrow. Checked the bags in really quickly and scampered off for something to eat and drink !! Found a good little cafe and had quite an enjoyable meal to set us up ready for the journey...
Then a long wait for the boarding time, but the airport lounge wasn't too busy so had a seat to settle into. Slowly time passed by and eventually the boarding gate showed up on the flight board display.... so off we went to probably the furthest gate possible to get the plane...
After another short wait it was time to board and get settled in for the next 11 1/2 hours.. plenty of spare seats so no problem finding overhead stowage !! Departure time of 17:15 came and went and we eventually took off at about 17:50 (10 to 6 in the evening ! ) The flight was smooth enough, food was not too bad and got to see the new James Bond movie - Spectre .. after another movie it was time for some sleep.
Paul (as usual) slept like a baby for a few hours...
Trev managed the odd half hour here and there...
Poor Pat & Dee had about 10 mins each, couldn't sleep, so watched more movies....
(All asleep now while I enter this... happily settled in our rooms.),
Having arrived at Hong Kong airport, Trev, Dee & Pat got quickly through passport control but my Passport would not scan on the machine ( new fangled passport - rubbish ) the poor girl tried at least 20 times, her collegue next to her also tried a couple of times, before calling over a supervisor who, obviously in chinese, told her to write all of the details down, which she did, and then let me through..
Bags found really quickly, which is unusual for us, and off we marched..
Walked through customs to be met by our limo people, very pleasant man, also called Paul, who explained a few things to us, gave us some good info,, then escorted us to the waiting limo for the journey from the new airport to Hong Kong harbour and eventually our hotel.. Checked in quickly and all sorted, except no milk for the tea !!!!!
Plan for this evening is to walk around Hong Kong itself, some more food and drink (has to be done on holiday) and then watch the firework display to celebrate Chinese New Year !!!!
Later this evening probably all sleep the sleep of the dead as will be exhausted by then... Ready for day '2'

Dee Burdett Tucked up in bed with a good book ready for what I know will be a short night ! No complaints whatsoever though as we have had a wonderful evening roaming around a very busy bar/ restaurant area behind our hotel which is close by the water X We had a fantastic dinner followed by a firework display in the harbour for The Chinese New Year
