A TON has happened since my last entry, hadn't had much time or internet to update! Dan and I left Moab after a really good few days there and headed for Boulder, CO. On our way to Boulder though, Dan had a genius idea that we should take a tour of the Coors Brewery, YES! The tour itself was interesting, but the kicker was that 3 free draft beers came with the tour once you complete it! We each felt a little bad that The Suzzzzzzzz was unable to join us though, she is truly the poster child of Coors Light! But we had a few for her before getting up to Boulder!
A friend of mine, Jon, from high school was great enough to let us crash at his place for a few nights. He also took us out and showed us Boulder for 2 nights. Boulder was a really cool town with HUGE pride in CU. The vibe, the people, and the look of it reminded me a lot of Burlington, VT. Definitely a good time. Dan enjoyed himself so much the first night there that he was unable to attempt his first skydive at Mile Hi Skydiving due to a nasty hangover! I made 2 jumps and the view was amazing! The people were alright, the setup was kind of a pain though. I definitely miss the Ranch and can't wait to jump there this coming weekend! 2 jumps away from 200, hope to get some people together and do something crazy! Boulder was great, I'd recommend to check it out if you ever get the chance, really fun place to be. Thank you Jon for everything, Dan and I owe you a few.
Before Dan was going to have to leave and go back to reality we went to Red Rocks to check out the venue, really cool place to view a show, and then went to Denver. Denver was a little different than I expected it to be, but nice. A city for sure, but laid back and seemingly a calm pace. We walked the 16th Street Mall and just hung out for the day. Nothing crazy, but a good day.
Sunday is when things got nuts, Dan is lucky he got to fly out of Denver that day. Over the course of Sunday and Monday I drove over 1500 miles all the way from Denver to Winston-Salem, North Carolina. What a crazy, BORING, drive. I knew I was in for it when the CORN started showing up again. One thing I'm positive of is this, the middle of America sucks, I will never move there, the end. Interesting thing about my drive yesterday though is that I passed thru 7 states in 1 day! Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, and North Carolina. That was interesting. Thing that drove me nuts though, I couldn't pull over to get the Virginia sign! Have no fear though, I will get it when I head North! The drive was intense overall, but good to get it out of the way and be back in EST!
I stopped in Winston-Salem to visit Jenn. I'm really glad I stopped to visit her, it was great to see her. She recently bought a home and it was a very nice place, and I'm happy for her in that. Was good to catch up and hang out, I haven't seen her in a very long time. Thank you for having me!
Now I'm in Wake Forest visiting my parents. I will be leaving here for home probably Thursday morning in the home stretch of my trip. I've driven almost 10,000 miles entirely myself since I've left and it's crazy to think this will be the last drive to the last stop on my trip. I'm sure I'll have more to say at that point, but for now I'm just going to relax and hang out with some Etch's!
