The time at my parents house was really nice. Good to relax and see them, plus I got to play Wii for the first time! Hahaha. Interesting video game system, I don't really play video games very much anymore, but man that thing is involved! It was great to see them, thanks for the few days of relaxation, hope to see you guys soon.
Yesterday was the last major drive... It was great and weird at the same time. As I drove towards home I couldn't help but think about what I was feeling/thinking when I first left. Crazy to think 6 weeks ago I was heading to Chicago and here I am on my way back to New York. Definitely had one of those weird movie like flashbacks in terms of picturing and reliving the trip. The good, the bad, and everything else. I'm sure this is something that won't just stop when I get home though, I'll never forget the days I've spent on this trip.
But I'm not quite home yet. I came straight to the Bronx to see Rachel, I'll be back to the Barn probably later today, and I feel THAT is when it will really set in that this trip has come to a close. Getting here was great though. It was fantastic to see her again, things are great, and the rest I'll be keeping for myself.
Two major things that pissed me off on the way home - Maryland and New York screwed me on getting pictures with their state signs. Maryland's sign was directly over the bridge between it and Virginia leaving me no real way to get that. New York's sign was ON the George Washington Bridge entering the Bronx, and anyone that has ever travelled that bridge knows there was no chance in hell I was getting that one... So I've got unfinished business with you Maryland! New York would be easy, just drive to Dirty Jersey and back, but I'll only do it when I'm on another trip! I hope people have enjoyed the state signs, they've been a lot of fun and created some excitement/mayhem throughout my trip. Don't know if I have a favorite, but Delaware is where I was born, that was fun to get yesterday! THE FIRST STATE!
One more small drive, one more destination on THIS trip...
