So it has been a while since the last REAL blog entry. Life has been busy but it has been really fun as well. I'm just about to start my 7th week here and it's insane to think about. I've only got a month left here. I've made a lot of good friends and had a lot of good times. I look around my neighborhood now like it's home. I have my walk's, my grocery store and my little pool community. This experience has really allowed me to grown into this place, and it's great. It really is so much more than just coming and staying for a couple of weeks. Obs and Cape Town are home. I will be back :).
So Most recently me and a couple of roomates took a drive down to cape point. This is where the indian and alantic ocean meet. I got to take friday off of work and do this with, muffin, tall, small and mary. Sara made a time table of exactly where we would go and what we would do. She is so type A it is hillarious, remindes me of Leslie Linn. I even gave her the Linn on edge sign and I can't stop laughing. Anyway, almost laminated time table in hand, we headed out in tom's little VW Citi for Cape point. It started raining of course and the first half of the day was pretty dreary, but we still got to see a ton of good stuff. We got to cape point and it was really pretty cool. It's one of those things you need to do once though. So many tourists and of course busses full of japanese people taking pictures, making peace signs and being pushy.
After Cape Point we went on to Simons Town where we got to see penguins. They were pretty dam cute. I'm sorry that I didn't get any pictures, but I was busy taking video of the little guys. So your all just going to have to wait until I finish the videos. It was really wierd seeing penguins on the beach without any snow, but it sure was cool. We tried to steal one for the "Bedford St. Cage Fight", but small just wasn't fast enough. Oh well, it was still a great day. I posted a bunch of pictures that I did take from the day, so check out the album.
Saturday, I went to my first Rugby game. It was really cool. The match was between the Petoria Blu Bulls and the Cape Town Stormers. For the last couple of weeks this friend from work, rudolf has been convincing me that I need to be a bulls fan. Now this guy has tatooed there mascott on his chest, so yeah he's a hardcore fan, but for good reasons. They are a hell of a team, and yeah they won yesterday:). It was a nail bitter though. It got way to close, but it was the first game of the season so things are still shaking out. It was a lot of fun and we all are planning to go to another game soon with a huge group and tailgate. Should be cool.
Besides all of this i'm working on putting together my video for Oliver and the VAC as well as my little video about the roomates. It's taking a lot of planning and shooting. So i'm working hard, but it's fun and I'm learning a lot about how to get the goals you desire when it comes to producing videos.
Anyway, i'm off to another kirstenbosch concert today and hanging out by the pool until then. Life's rough.
